We were happy to be invited into another local school today. St Mary’s Primary School is in the Vale of Leven area near Alexandria. This visit was to one of the schools primary six classes. We met the class in the school assembly hall and the surprise on the children’s faces as we walked in was clear. The class were very well behaved and really interested in the talk that we gave. Artizan’s presents today were Paul Hunter, Chris Pollock, Jeanette Ryan, Jim Tannock and Frank Boyd. Paul gave a talk on the history of Bruce and about the lands here that he owned. Chris Pollock gave a quick talk on weapons and how the men would have used them. As usual after the talks the pupils were given the chance to try out the weapons and helmets. The children were keen to show us their classroom with all the stuff on the walls about knights and castles. While in the classroom Paul knighted two of the pupils and they were given children’s books on the king. Another great visit to a local primary school.
