On Tuesday 7th October the 40 Bowmen of St Sebastian had a social gathering in Renton.
The Chairman of Strathleven Artizans 40 Bowmen Duncan Thomson thanked all the bowmen who came along, there was a good turnout with 17 Bowmen present, he then introduced our special guest for the evening who was the young up and coming actor James McAnerney who played King Robert the Bruce in the documentary King of Scots for BBC Scotland he spoke for over an hour on the subject of King Robert the Bruce and the making of the series etc., it was very interesting listening to him, everybody that was there certainly enjoyed his speech he then took questions from the Bowmen on things like how he got the part and what other things he had done i.e. he played a police officer in River City and is currently in the advert that is on the T.V just now for mental health, the 40 Bowmen would like to thank James very much for taking the time to come down to Renton and spend the evening with us we certainly enjoyed having him here and look forward to seeing him again soon.

Duncan then introduce Strathleven Artizans mentor and Historian Mr Stuart Smith who told James and the gathered Bowmen about the Bruce history in Renton as always Stuart’s was enlightening, entertaining and very interesting.
