05-05-2011 KING ROBERT THE BRUCE OPENS NEW SCOTMID COOP

Only just back the following day from their travels in Spain, the Artizans were home at  main street Renton to open one of a new chain of stores for the local public. The Royal entourage were accompanied by Scotmid's friendly staff and management (Largest independent co-operative in Scotland) as it was formally opened to the village of Renton

The day was covered by the local press and made first page place in the County Reporter. Congratulations to the very first visitor to the store who was welcomed by a lovely bouquet of flowers and Just like the Bruce, if you take care of your people ...they will take care of you. Good luck to Scotmid, their staff and every success for the future and thank you for giving the honour of opening up by cutting the ribbon to the Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre.

Thank you to the Artizan members who showed up on the day after all day travelling the day before and a huge thank you to the members for holding the fort and keeping the Centre opened for the general public when our forces were divided through commitment.
