26-02-2010 DALREOCH PRIMARY SCOTTISH AFTERNOON

The Strathleven Artizans made there second trip to visit Dalreoch Primary School to participate in the Schools ‘Scottish Afternoon’ prize giving.
Dalreoch has a special place in the hearts of the Artizans regarding the name meaning ‘Place/Pavilion of the King’ and so was a great honour and privilege to be asked to judge on their performances.
Today the children showed off their creative talents with artwork, stories and musical numbers in front of a packed hall full of mums, dads and Grand parents. The standard was very high and with all the pupils working very hard to impress, it made choosing a winner all the more difficult. But there had to be winners and great winners they all were.
We wee treated by the Clyde Dancers (Dalreoch Reel), Clyde Story telling (King of the Bin by Cutty Sark), Clyde Verse Speaking, The Last Nicht (Kayleigh McIntosh, Caitlin King, Billy Thomson, Natalie Lever, Christie Grierson and Kyle Furphy). The Blu Doo (Billy Weir, Iona Taylor and Dean Allardice) and Duncan Gray - Drama finished off with a wonderful rendition of Auld Lang Syne.

Verse speaking was :
The Teacher by Bobby Ross, Kara Carlyle and Morgan Anderson.
The Furry Hat by Chelsey Bell, Tegan Galloway and Leane Weir.
Catch a flea by Ewan McMartin, Miriam Glen, Lucy Smylie, Zoe Maxwell, Cameron Ormond, and Joshua Hughes.
