Several members of Strathleven Artizans had a fabulous night out in the Maryhill Community halls, Glasgow, in the company of Crann Tara and several other societies, we where entertained by (the better than Elvis) Ted Christopher and the Bannockburn Band who went down a storm as usual, they soon had the place jumping with their repertoire of music and songs from Ted’s own brilliant songs to Rod Stewart to (steak and Kidney) Sidney Devine to the Tartan Army Anthems the crowd couldn’t get enough, the night certainly flew in.
While the band was on a break we had what must have been the biggest raffle we have seen the range of prizes was amazing and well done to all who donated to this great cause, we then had Duncan Brown (Artist) play the bagpipes this was the first time we had heard him play and I must say he was great everybody enjoyed his style of playing so well done Duncan.
In finishing off this report could I thank the guys and gals from Crann Tara and Strathleven Artizans for the lovely Birthday present which was a nice surprise the painting of Sir James Douglas (painted by Duncan Brown) will hang proudly in the Tannock living room.
Also big thanks to my wee wife Lynn for the surprised party and cake etc and to my big buddy Duncan, Thanks Guys.
Well done to Dave and Christine and all the crew from Crann Tara on a fabulous night and all for a well worth cause too, looking forward to next year.
Yours Jim Tannock
