BRUCE CASTLE MANOR, TOTTENHAM, LONDON

On a recent visit to London with my son Jamie to attend the NFL (American Football) game at Wembley stadium, we took the opportunity to visit the Bruce Castle Manor in Tottenham, North London.
Bruce Castle is a 16th Century manor house with adjacent Tudor red-brick tower. Bruce Castle now houses Haringey’s Museum and Archive service.

The Bruce Castle is a Grade I listed 16th Century manor house, William Compton - a member of Henry VIII’s court, built the oldest surviving parts of the building.

This Grand old building is (alleged to be) built on the original foundations of King Robert the Bruce own manor house here in Tottenham. (Strathleven Artizans are in the process of finding out more facts and information on the link between KRB and The Bruce Castle Manor and will be paying a more detailed visit in the spring of 2009 and we will keep you up to date with the progress via our website).
The house is situated at the front entrance to the beautiful park with some magnificent trees and gardens set in 20 acres of parklands
Bruce Castle Park was the first public park in Tottenham. There is a Tree Trail to follow through the park, and the park is part of the Better Haringey Walking Trail, you can check out there website
