Lomond Shores
September week-end
Strathleven Artizans had another successful time at Lomond Shores over the September weekend. Just back from our annual trip to Teba in Spain the day before, we enjoyed a very good turn out of Artizans/Bowmen over the course of the week end.
The Artizans enjoyed some great weather over two days in Balloch, in fact it was warmer at Loch Lomond than it was where we were in Spain which was great. We met and spoke with loads of people over the week end, with many local folk as well as many tourists from all over the world i.e Australia, Canada, USA, India, Isreal, France and the rest of the UK.
The kids enjoyed trying on our medieval helmets, holding the swords and having their photos taking with the horse Artizan Lady who once again was a major attraction to our marquee. It was great to see the King’s Piper Philip Barlow on the Sunday who entertained the visitors with his bagpipes again a great attraction.
There was many a conversation going on with different members of the Artizans telling the visitors about the weapons, our medieval wear along with the Royal connection with King Robert the Bruce to Renton and the Loch Lomond area, along with some Scottish history as well.
All in, it was a great week end and we would like to Thank Lomond Shores for inviting us along once again.
We look for forward now to October week when we will be returning to Lomond shores.
A special thanks goes to all the Bowmen and women who came along and gave their time and support (too many to mention) but you know who you are !!!!
Before I go a lot of local people were asking were our King (Paul Hunter) was as he was not present over the week end and was missed, Paul had a wee accident while in Teba, he tore the calf muscle in his leg and was unable to walk and get around so he was confined to bed for a week. His recovery is slow and will take about 6-8 weeks to heal so get well soon your majesty !!!!!
Yours on behalf of Strathleven Artizans
Slainte Jim Tannock.
