Three members of the 40 Bowmen of St. Sebastion had a great day whilst filming on location at Kilmahew Castle ruins in the ancient lands of Lennox.
Kilmahew lies between Cardross and Renton and situated in beautiful forest, ancient wall gardens, waterfalls, walkways as well as magnificent ancient trees. Also in ruins nearby is St.Peters College, which once schooled hopefuls in the cloth and training in the word of God. The whole area is uniquely situated in a most peaceful and picturesque vantage point looking over the Clyde estuary and Carman hill to the right, which dates back to Druids time and beyond.
The Bowmen were in the company of film-maker and professional photographer Robert Bell. The afternoon was spent taking photos and filming scenes for a worldwide short film competition and a promotional video for the Artizans which will be added to the film from the grand opening of the Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre Robert filmed already.
A big thank you to Paul Hunter (KRB), Chris Pollock (Sir James Douglas) and Jim Tannock (Edward Bruce) and also Robert Bell for looking after us with plenty of food and drink. We hope to film more in the future but with a bigger cast of Bowmen/women being present.
Report by Jim Tannock.
