It's that time of year again when Scotland's highland games kick off all over the country. For the past few years the Strathleven Artizans have had pride of place as guards of honour, marching into the games in procession alongside Clan chiefs, VIPs, pipers, dancers, and Royal horses. Another fine and successful day was capped off by a really excellent turn out by the local public and visitors from all over the world.
The new Royal tent had its first outing and stood in full bloom, standing out from all others with its bold Bruce colours of Red and Yellow, hugged by our nations flags blowing in the Clyde Estuary winds with pride. The Artizans were honoured by having 'Big Archie' one of the King's horses in waiting. All day long our own Jeanette kept this beautiful animal in check and doing so made us all proud of her effort. At times the tent seemed like a bee-hive live with interest and our girls worked their socks off as usual so a big pat on the back for them.
A surprise visit from T.V.s 'The One Show' interviewed our group and it will be aired on T.V. sometime in the near future...so watch this space for a great plug for our Centre. Well done all for the un-seen work in loading and un-loading and for turning out in all our colours and medieval costume. A big thank you to all who visited our Royal tent and chatted about our local history.
