14-06-2009 HELENSBURGH & LOMOND HIGHLAND GAMES

Strathleven Artizans were invited to take part in the Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games on Sunday 14th June. On arrival we were giving the privilege of being Guards of Honour to the Clan Chief, Diarmid Iain MacAulay of the Clan MacAulay, we were so honoured to do so,there was a short parade lead by the Clan Chief along with his bodyguards then the  Helensburgh and district pipe bands along with members of Strathleven Artizans and the 40 Bowmen of St Sebastian.
The Chieftain then proceeded to open the games the park was packed out with people who were enjoying the beautiful weather basked in glorious sunshine
The games had all the usual events and the park was getting busier by the hour.
We had the great music from Clann an Drumma who had the crowd jumping it was good to see the band playing again and sounding great, well done guys.
We are all looking forward to returning again next year in greater numbers.
Before leaving Duncan presented The Clan Chief with a Golden Eagle feather for his hat, this came from Orla the Golden Eagle from Loch Lomond birds of prey centre.
Thanks to the games committee for looking after us and also having us there it was a brilliant day out.
