29-09-2009 Renton Primary School

The Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre opened its doors for the first time to the children and teachers of Renton Primary. Fellow Artizans:  Duncan Thomson, Jim Tannock and Paul Hunter relived the medieval days by informing the pupils of their Royal village of Renton and also with a show of 14th century weapons and armour.

Details of the Bruce’s life and death were explained in detail to the eager learners of history and many an old ancient tale of the local area was spoken.
Details of the planning of the Heritage Centre were explained to the children, hopefully giving them the chance to enjoy it for years to come.

It was a day enjoyed by all and the Strathleven Artizans would like to thank Renton Primary and their teachers for giving us the opportunity to discuss our passion of King Robert the Bruce to them and to commend them on their behaviour and respect given to our centre.

We hope in the near future to attract all schools to our Heritage Centre and to pass on knowledge of our local famous King of Scotland, and in opening new horizons of Scottish history we intend giving everyone pride in their country and their past.

Again thank you to the kids who approached Jim Tannock after school hours thanking him for a really interesting day. You are welcome back anytime.

Thanks kids for a great day.
