The Artist Duncan Brown

Duncan Brown is an artist, piper and Scottish historian…born in the village of Burnbank , in Hamilton .

He has had a deep respect and love of his country's history all of his life.

His aim is to promote our culture and keep it to the fore to remind us of who we are and what we came from.

Quote….from Duncan Brown "History is the memory of the nation and if we lose our memory we are indeed lost in many ways. Hopefully then, we can go forward to a more peaceful future without continually raking up past grievances."

Scotland has given me my heart and my life.

It is a great honour to have Duncan Brown paint the 4 Generals, the Clan Crests and King Robert the Bruce which I can promise you will be spectacular having seen the first drawing of King Robert the Bruce.

His enthusiasm for Scotland and indeed all things Scottish make him a very Patriotic Scotsman and is an honour to call him a friend.

When you visit his beautiful home it hits you just how much this man and his lovely wife Jill both love their country, he has a room full of Scottish memorabilia i.e. swords, shields, targes, Jacobean pistols, pride of place is his gifts from his late friend and great Scottish writer Nigel Tranter.

His other great love is playing the bagpipes, he has played all over the world with pipe bands, played at numerous weddings, funerals and various functions.

Strathleven Artizans would like to thank Duncan very, very much for his time, his dedication and his amazing skills in painting the Bannockburn Ceiling.

Duncan You Sir Are A True Patriot
