The Strathleven Atizans are well used to visiting schools and telling their story about King Robert the Bruce and his life in the Renton locality. They are less practised in presenting their case to adults so Monday 7th March was a new experience as they attended a meeting of the Womens’ Guild at Helensburgh’s West Kirk.. When the invitation was extended to the Artizans, it was accompanied by the promise of home-baking, thus it was an offer they couldn’t refuse.
The meeting was well-attended by members of the Guild and they seemed genuinely interested in the presentation from Duncan, Paul and Jeanette in medieval costume as Tommy projected accompanying images on the screen behind them.
The hour long tale was followed by a question and answer session before the promised home baking appeared: a just reward for the speakers.
The meeting closed with the Artizans distributing some of their literature and inviting Guild members to visit the King Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre at Renton Station..
