15-10-2011 SAVE OUR HIGH ST - DUMBARTON

As part of the annual 'Pride in Our Town Week' the Artizans were invited to visit Dumbarton's aptly named Artizan Centre on Saturday. Their attendance certainly attracted lots of attention and allowed the message to be spread via an interview on Real Radio, probably the first radio interview given by Robert the Bruce, King of Scots. Lots of Dumbarton people had no idea of the King's connection with the town and it was great to see the effect this information had on them.

Quite a few people expressed an interest in taking part in future events and arranged to visit the Heritage Centre later this week.

Historic town centres and High Streets are in decline throughout Scotland and many people are fighting back to keep their heritage alive. Strathleven Artizans are pleased to play a role in this fight in Dumbarton, ancient capital of Strathclyde.
