40 Bowmen at Carrick
After a successful day out at Maidens Primary School the 40 Bowmen of St Sebastian’s took the opportunity to visit the birthplace of our Greatest ever King.
The site of the old Carrick Castle sit beside the Turnberry Lighthouse and which is on the historic golf course of Turnberry.
We were able to drive thru the course and right up to the old castle ruins were we spent an hour or so taking photos of the ruins and the magnificent surrounding scenery.
As we were dressed in our medieval gear we soon had heads turning with several tourists taking photos and talking to us about want we were up to etc.
I’m sure a few golf shot went a stray as the golfers spotted us up on the old castle they must have thought they were seeing things!!! ?.
We all had time to have a think back to the Bruce and how it must have been like living here at Carrick castle it certainly is a magnificent part of Scotland and well worth a visit.
