As every good Scot around the world should know, the twenty fifth of January celebrates our national bards birthday. So in keeping with tradition two members of the Strathleven Artizans from the Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre visited the River View House in Renton to meet some of the nice folk who live there. There, King Robert and his close friend stout Duncan sat in at tea time and were rewarded with haggis and tatties followed by ice cream for their troubles. After our hearty meal with the ladies and gentlemen, we had a good chinwag and exchange of jokes for entertainment and as we left, our friends ended their night in the TV room. We would like to thank River View House for inviting us to share in their Burns Supper and for the first class hospitality we received from the staff. Thanks to all and ‘cheers!’
Fair fa’ your honest sonsie face,
Great chieftain o’ the puddin’-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy o’ a grace
As lang’s my arm.
Thanks to Artizans/Bowmen Duncan Thomson and Paul Hunter. |
