Strathleven Artizans carry on with a hectic month and this weekend attended the Border Gathering in Dumfries. Although it clouded over on several occasions we were lucky and it stayed dry. The thousands of locals that attended seemed to enjoy the various tents and displays.
Big Duncan, Stewart and Frank worked there socks off with the many visitors who attended our marquee, answering questions and giving the people as much information as possible about King Robert the Bruce. Well done lads as the public seemed to enjoy all they heard from you.
There were other groups that had also ventured to Dumfries for the first time, and they were also very well recieved including Crann Tara, Siol nan Gaidheal and the Wolf Picts. It was a great day and we all seemed to help each other as we all have a common interest.
Also there was Highland dancing, a stunt bicycle team, a falcon display, a Viking group display and many other attractions from various fields. There were numerous Highland Games sports events and also music was played by the brilliant Gaberlunzie and then top of the bill were the Red Hot Chilli Pipers who brought the event to a conclusion.
Many thanks to Jim Tannock for helping on Saturday with erecting the tent, we hope though that you feel better soon and you can rejoin the group as you are sorely missed.
