Friday January 14th found the Artizans in Hamilton for the adoption meeting of our good friend Christina McKelvie MSP. Christina has supported and helped us for a long time and it was an honour for the Strathleven Artizans to form her personal bodyguard for the evening.
Christina was piped into the hall by artist/author Duncan Brown and accompanied by a large group of Artizans.
Finance Minister John Swinney delivered an inspirational speech before Christina replied, stressing her intention to work flat out in the upcoming election campaign.
The speeches were followed by an enjoyable traditional buffet of pie and beans. (The King demanded and received double rations but Stout Duncan was less fortunate.)
There followed a musical celebration with Ted Christopher and others including Bowmen JP, Kate and Gordon,
All in all it was a great start for Christina’s campaign and a pleasure for the Artizans to be there.
